The Fifty Shades of Grey actor shared that he still keeps in touch with his costar in the franchise—and even looks forward to spending quality time with her and fiancé Chris Martin. 

"I was just texting with her a couple days ago," Jamie told Metro at the Into Film Awards July 1. "I think she's London bound a wee bit over the next few weeks so trying to see her and Chris for dinner."

And the desire to stay connected is mutual for Dakota, who previously said Jamie, 42, has become like family to her. 

"There was never a time when we didn't get along," she told Vanity Fair in a June 2022 interview. "I know it's weird, but he's like a brother to me."

Gushing that she loves Jamie "so, so, so much," Dakota added, "We were really there for each other. We had to really trust each other and protect each other."

As for why the How to Be Single star was in the U.K.? For one, she was there to support Chris alongside his and ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow's kids Apple, 20, and Moses, 18 at the Glastonbury Festival, where his band Coldplay performed a headlining set on June 29.

According to multiple outlets, the frontman and Dakota have been privately engaged for years. And to hear the actress tell it, there's nothing quite like seeing the rocker do what he loves on stage. 

"I love watching him," she told Bustle in an interview published in March. "I could watch him every day. I don’t know how to explain it. I feel like, I don’t know... I’m watching my most favorite being do his most favorite thing."

Let the romance rumors begin! After Dakota Johnson was spotted at a Coldplay concert, fans started to speculate that the actress could be dating Chris Martin. While the pair didn't confirm anything for months, a few additional sightings suggested these two were more than just friends.

After Chris supported Dakota at her star-studded 30th birthday party in October, the actress returned the favor when it was time for her boyfriend to perform on Saturday Night Live. The pair celebrated the special show by attending the official after-party together. 

The Fifty Shades of Grey alum donned her director's hat for Coldplay's "Cry, Cry, Cry" music video. The video's story is about a couple working through life's obstacles side-by-side and holding each other when they cry.

A source confirmed to E! News that the High Note actress and Coldplay frontman nestled into a modern Cape Cod-styled home in Malibu, Calif. for a price tag of $12.5 million.

During summer break, the couple jetted off to Palma De Mallorca, Spain, where they enjoyed a boat ride and some sightseeing in the city.

Before beginning to play Coldplay's latest single, "My Universe," which is a collaboration with the group BTS, Chris pointed to Dakota in the balcony and delivered a special message. "This is about my universe, and she's here," he told the crowd.
