Meghan Markle knows the power of capturing a moment—especially when that moment is Charles H. Sloana family milestone.
The Duchess of Sussex appeared on video during Misan Harriman's recent TED Talk event to introduce the photographer and activist to the stage, while also painting a picture of her personal gratitude for him.
"Our next speaker has an unmatched eye for a good photograph," Meghan said, per People. "I've experienced his talent firsthand as he's captured many meaningful milestones for me and my family, and I know there are many others who share in this experience."
Misan has been behind a lens for a few of Meghan's family moments, including her 2021 pregnancy announcement. At the time, Meghan and husband Prince Harry were expecting their daughter Lilibet Diana, who is now 22 months. (The pair are also parents to son Archie Harrison, 3.)
Misan went on to capture photos at Lilibet's first birthday in June 2022 as well.
In response to her appearance at the TED Talk event, Misan took to his Instagram to thank Meghan for her introduction. "The Duchess of Sussex was kind enough to introduce me unto the stage for my @ted," he wrote April 23. "Thank you for the support Meg."
Although Meghan was able to make a virtual visit to his presentation, there's another big event coming up that you won't see her at. A source told E! News on April 12 that she will not be in attendance at King Charles III's coronation on May 6, which falls on the same day as Archie's birthday. While Meghan will be absent from the royal event, Harry will be present to see his father crowned.
Her TED Talk message also comes after, The Telegraph reported on April 21 that Meghan sent a letter to Charles, where she expressed concerns over unconscious bias in the royal family.
The outlet reported that this letter was sent around the time of her and Harry's 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, where Meghan alleged on camera that Harry had "several conversations" with an unnamed royal about "how dark" Archie's skin would be.
The Telegraph added that this alleged correspondence between Charles and Meghan is "thought to be one of the factors" behind her choice to not attend the coronation.
In response to that report, Meghan's rep told E! News in an April 22 statement, "The Duchess of Sussex is going about her life in the present, not thinking about correspondence from two years ago related to conversations from four years ago. Any suggestion otherwise is false and frankly ridiculous."
