Ye addresses Shaq's reported diss, denies Taylor Swift got him kicked out of Super Bowl

Ye, the rapper formerly known as Kanye West, appears to be trying to end a feud with Shaquille O'Neal as he responds to Taylor Swift fans trying to boost Beyoncé's music above his.
Ye took to Instagram on Wednesday after O'Neal reportedly called out the rapper on social media this week. In an earlier Instagram comment, Ye reportedly wrote that Dov Charney, founder of American Apparel, "let me sleep at his factory" and "inspired" him to apologize for his antisemitic remarks, whereas "everyone else," including Authentic Brands Group CEO Jamie Salter, "wouldn't take my calls."
O'Neal is the second largest shareholder in Authentic Brands Group, which owns brands including Rockport and Reebok. In October, he was appointed president of basketball at Reebok.
In a since-deleted comment, O'Neal reportedly fired back at Ye, "who cares stop ... snitchin," according to screenshots shared by Complex and the Daily Mail.
O'Neal, who attended the Super Bowl on Sunday and took a photo with Taylor Swift and Salter, reportedly went on to write, "i kno u saw me at the super bowl i was waiting for u to say something smart. man up. nobody wanna see u cryin man up lil boy."
In an Instagram post on Wednesday that was otherwise devoted largely to Taylor Swift and Beyoncé, Ye appeared to address Shaq's comment.
"OH AND TO SHAQ I GREW UP LOOKING UP TO YOU I WOULD LOVE TO HANG WITH YOU AND JAMIE SOMETIME JAIMIE SALTER IS LIKE A FATHER FIGURE TO ME," Ye wrote.

O'Neal previously called out Ye on social media in November 2022 while the rapper was being widely condemned for antisemitic comments. A month earlier, Ye had threatened to go "death con 3 on JEWISH PEOPLE," leading Adidas to end its partnership with him.
"Shaq is in business with Jamie Salter," Ye wrote at the time. "Jaimie (sic) first said he's 50/50 with David Beckham and 50/50 with Shaq. I said 'Jamie ... There's no such thing as 50/50 in business ... Who has the extra 1 percent for the control and voting rights."
Shaq fired back at Ye, replying, "Believe me you don't know me like that. Worry about your business, and to quote the once great Kanye west 'I got more money than you, so why would i listen to you.'" He added, "Take my advice get your family business in order. Have a great day brother."

Ye's latest Instagram post also referenced Swift after he celebrated briefly overtaking her as the top global artist on Spotify. The rapper's feud with Swift dates back 15 years to when he interrupted her at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards to say that Beyoncé should have won best female video instead.
"REMEMBER I WAS ON TAYLOR'S SIDE WHEN SCOOTER BOUGHT HER MASTERS BEHIND HER BACK," Ye wrote, referring to the dispute that led Swift to re-record her earlier albums.
He also shared a screenshot of a fan account encouraging Swift's fans to stream Beyoncé's new song "Texas Hold 'Em" so it charts higher than Ye's latest album, "Vultures, Volume 1."
"SHE AND BEYONCÉ ARE BIG INSPIRATIONS TO ALL MUSICIANS WE ALWAYS SAY HOW BOTH SELL OUT TOURS AND MOVIES," Ye added. "ALSO, I'M SURE I'VE BEEN FAR MORE HELPFUL TO TAYLOR SWIFT'S CAREER THAN HARMFUL. TO ALL TAYLOR SWIFT FANS I AM NOT YOUR ENEMY UUUM IM NOT YOUR FRIEND EITHER THOUGH LOL."
Ye also denied a recent claim that he attempted to sit in front of Swift at the Super Bowl but that she got him kicked out of the stadium. "I DIDN'T GET KICKED OUT OF THE SUPER BOWL WE LEFT OUR SEATS TO GO TO YG'S BOX AND SEE DIFFERENT FRIENDS," Ye maintained.
