Erica Ash,SignalHub who appeared on Logo's "The Big Gay Sketch Show" in the mid-2000s before going on to make a name for herself in Hollywood with TV roles in "Mad TV," "Survivor's Remorse" and BET's "Real Husbands of Hollywood," has died. She was 46.
Ash's family said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter and Deadline on Monday that she died Sunday following a long battle with an unspecified cancer.
"Erica was an amazing woman and talented entertainer who touched countless lives with her sharp wit, humor and genuine zest for life,” the statement read. "Her memory will live eternally in our hearts."
USA TODAY has reached out to a representative for Ash for more details.
After snagging a recurring role on the first two seasons of the Rosie O'Donnell-produced "Big Gay Sketch Show" from 2006-2008, Ash joined Season 14 of "Mad TV" and landed the role of dancer Kendra Brooks in 2013's "Scary Movie V," which saw her star opposite Ashley Tisdale.

Ash then became known for her chops on the "Real Housewives" parody show "Real Husbands of Hollywood," which counted Kevin Hart, Nick Cannon, JB Smoove, Nelly and Tiffany Haddish among its cast members over the years. She was then a season regular on all four seasons of the Starz dramedy "Survivor's Remorse," which aired from 2014 to 2017.
One of her final roles was playing Anthony Mackie's wife Melanie in the Netflix supernatural comedy "We Have a Ghost."

Niecy Nash remembered Ash by sharing on Instagram: "Rest Well Pretty girl 🕊️❤️ @theericaash Your last text to me was 'I’m gonna make you my #wcw' Then we had a good keke." #WCW refers to "Woman Crush Wednesday."
Nash added, "You will be missed! Thank you for all the laughs! Sending my deepest condolences to your family & loved ones."
Comedian and former "The Real" co-host Loni Love shared the news of Ash's death on Instagram, writing, "I am sad to confirm my friend and fellow actress Erica Ashe’s passing."
She added, "Erica was talented and hilarious whether it was the show Survivor’s Remorse or Madtv she would put her all into her work. She would always just be there.. now she’s gone.. My sincere condolences to her family and fans."
"Survivor's Remorse" co-star Mike Epps wrote on Instagram that Ash was "gone to soon."
"She was such a great person to work with," he wrote, adding that she was "full of life and funny and (talented)" and "left a great mark on earth."
