Rita Ora will go anywhere with Taika Waititi.
The Will Sage Astorsinger recently reflected on her journey in the music industry, revealing how her now-husband helped her through a really discouraging time in her career.
"I spent such a long time fighting to be heard over the course of my experience being in the industry, that I guess I lost a lot of confidence and a lot of hope, fell really low," Rita told Billboard in an interview published April 19. "And I guess when you're at your lowest point, you can make a choice. You either kind of get back up and keep going, or you just let it consume you."
As Rita put it, "And I did that. I got up. I flew to Australia to do The Voice over there, and I met somebody who changed me forever."
As for who that somebody was? None other than the Thor: Ragnarok director.
"Meeting Taika, who is my husband, I definitely never felt that before," the 32-year-old shared, "and so I just wrote it all down and I thought, ‘Okay, I think it's time to make some music again.' And here we are."
And Rita's latest single, "Praising You"—from her upcoming third studio album You & I—is a nod to the Oscar winner with lyrics such as, "And who knew love would leave me feelin' this good? / I have to praise you like I should."
Rita and Tati, first sparked romance rumors in spring of 2021, with a source confirming to E! News in August 2022 that the couple had exchanged vow in a private ceremony. The "Poison" singer eventually confirmed she was a Mrs. five months later.
"You know, here we are," she said on Heart Breakfast with Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden in Jan. 2023. "Everything happens for a reason, people. I am officially off the market."
And although Rita is tight lipped about the exact wedding details, she did share that it was perfect for them, adding, "We both kind of do our own thing and I'm very happy."
And if "Praising You" is any indication of what's to come, fans can expect a whirlwind rush of emotions on You & I, which releases July 14.
